SCL Children’s Fund is dedicated to improving the welfare of children, especially in Canada and China. We strive to address unmet needs and fill gaps in existing services.

Our History

The Soong Ching Ling Children's Foundation of Canada was founded in l981 to commemorate Madame Soong Ching Ling who was one of the 20th century’s most renowned and revered woman leaders in China. She worked tirelessly for most of her life for the protection of woman and children, and for the education and welfare of children.

The Foundation was founded as a voluntary, non-political and non-profit organization. It was devoted to linking the people of Canada and China for the education, health and welfare of children in both countries.

Since its creation in 1981, the Foundation had supported many children’s projects in China. In recent years, it has evolved from mainly supporting children’s projects in China to mainly focusing on the needs of children in the Greater Vancouver area while continuing to support some children’s programs in China.

​

In 2023, the Foundation adopted the DBA (doing business as) name of “SCL Children’s Fund”.
